The Café takes Trade-ins
You can now trade-in your old Mac (or PC) for credit towards the purchase of a new Mac at the MacCafé. Your hard drive will be wiped-out and overwritten several times using DoD standards. This ensures your privacy. We can even transfer your data from the old Mac to your new computer.
How our Trade-in Program Works
- You should back up your old computer at home, or you may apply some of your trade-in credit towards having us transfer the data onto the new computer for you. Make sure to check your backup carefully because your old computer will be securely erased after you trade it in.
- Schedule a time with our appraiser before bringing your machine in. Our appraiser will test every component of your potential trade-in. If for any reason we find that your computer is not in good condition we reserve the right to reject the trade or will reduce the trade-in value accordingly.
- Bring your old computer into MacCafé with as many original accessories as possible: such as the original box, power cord, original software installation disks, keyboard, mouse, etc. Having all your accessories can raise your trade-in value.
- After we evaluate your old computer we will give you a final trade-in offer based on your computer's condition/accessories included. If you accept the offer, you'll leave with a new computer. If you'd like us to transfer data from the old computer to your new computer, the process may take more time.
